Set in a truly wonderful location, high in the Shropshire Hills, and adjacent to the owners own home, Heron Cottage provides spacious and comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to 4 guests, who can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of such a beautiful location.

Surrounded by beautiful views and landscaped gardens, the cottage also has many walks right from your doorstep, including Bromlow Callow and The Stiperstones.

Heron Cottage is packed with charm, from wood-burning stove and beamed ceilings to natural slate floors and exposed stone walls. A very warm welcome awaits you.

There are two sitting rooms at Heron Cottage, the first, from the front door is a pleasantly spacious room with a wood burner where you can relax and unwind. Included is a Freeview TV and DVD player.

Three steps lead down to the second sitting room cum dining room which has delightful views from all windows and is a peaceful place to sit and play games, read or listen to music.

The light and airy kitchen/diner is very well equipped with built-in cooker, fridge freezer and dishwasher together with a microwave and washing machine.

There is a downstairs bathroom with basin, toilet and shower over the bath.

There are two large and spacious bedrooms at the cottage, both of which are upstairs. The first bedroom has twin beds, while the second main bedroom has a 6ft zip and link bed (giving the option of twin beds) and an en-suite shower room with basin and toilet.

Outside, the private rear garden provides a patio with garden furniture where guests can enjoy the fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.

The Local Area

The Stables Inn, serving good locally sourced food and local ales is only 5 minutes drive (just a 20 minute walk) away and offers a very friendly welcome to our guests.

Nearest shops are at Minsterley, Churchstoke and Bishops Castle and for those who would prefer to take the strain out of shopping for food Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda all deliver in our area.

Weekly changeover day is Friday

Short breaks of 3 nights (Friday – Sunday) or 4 nights (Monday – Thursday) are generally available all year round, although from November to March inclusive we can be more flexible.

Sociable and well behaved dogs are very welcome at Heron Cottage. Additional charge of £15 per dog per stay.
