Much Wenlock provides a great base for exploring this beautiful county of Shropshire. This traditional, olde English market town has good road links with Shrewsbury, Telford, Bridgnorth and Church Stretton are easily reached from the town. Much Wenlock itself though has much to offer. There’s a charming collection of independently run shops and cafés plus a wide choice of fayre when dining out. There are many pubs and hotels with restaurants in Much Wenlock offering food for all tastes and budgets!
There are some excellent walking trails which begin from the town, including Wenlock Edge where pre-historic fossils can be found along the tree lined escarpment.
Don’t forget a visit to Wenlock Priory, a ruined 12th century monastery, now managed by English Heritage.
