Shepherd’s Hut offers a delightful twist on a self catering holiday in Shropshire. Located at the far end of a working farm and just a few miles from Ironbridge, this timber built and fully insulated glamping hut sleeps a couple in total comfort.

The hut benefits from an uninterrupted view across fields and woodland to the grandeur of Wrekin Hill’s rocky eastern face.

Inside, the hut provides a warm and romantic feel with it’s own log burning stove for cosy evenings, comfortable double bed and seating area. There’s also a flat screen TV should you need it, but the view is one to savour.

Cooking and dining facilities are literally a couple of yards from the hut, almost within arms reach. These facilities, for your use only, have been converted within in the barn to provide a spacious kitchen and dining area. Again, the view from the dining area is a real treat. There’s also another additional flat screen TV and an electric fire and thus the room offers an alternative relaxation area. We are also able to provide free Wi-Fi during your stay.

Your private toilet and shower room are also located within this converted part of the barn and there is also a utility room with washing machine and dryer.

Outside a bbq is also provided for dining al-fresco and enjoying the setting.

This is glamping at its finest.

Location

The farm itself sits at the end of its own single track road, just a mile from the pretty village of Leighton. The Kynnersley Arms has recently been refurbished and serves bar and evening meals. In the opposite direction, just 3 miles from the farm, the village of Little Wenlock serves superb food too at The Hunstman Inn.

The Wrekin, Shropshire’s iconic hill, can be reached on foot via a permissive and scenic path right from your doorstep.

Ironbridge, with it’s visitor attractions, pubs, cafes and restaurants is just 5 miles away.

Please note: We do also have two other similar and slightly larger huts located in the same peaceful setting at the farm. These other two huts share a shower room/toilet, whereas Shepherd’s Hut’s facilities are solely private. They both also feature a basic kitchen within the hut itself rather than in it’s own separate building.

Guest Comments

“Shepherds Hut was exactly how I had hoped for it be. Located in the beautiful surroundings of Shropshire, very clean, comfortable cosy accommodation with everything we needed for our 5 day stay. Although all the huts & cottages are within a close to distance to one another on the farm the area in which Shepherds Huts is accommodated was very private.

We will definitely be visiting Morrells Wood Farm again in the future. Couldn’t possibly say a bad word about our experience. To top it off the weather was beautiful and the 20 minute walk to the Kynnersley Arms located at the bottom of the lane is well worth it for the delicious food which is served all day.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherds Hut in early August and were very lucky with the weather. Comfy beds and everything you need. Too warm to use the tiny log burner but would love to try this in the future. We cycled around the country lanes and managed to clock up quite a few miles going from village to village without using the main roads too much. We even cycled to Ironbridge on the lanes. Quite hilly but manageable with decent gearing. It was so warm we managed to sit outside and barbi two evenings. We liked the private, not overlooked, garden area outside of our Hut and the extreme quietness. Would like to try one of the other two huts but aware that we were so private in our position! Would return in a jiffy.”

“Me and Sue found the Shepherds Hut very cosy we had all the amenities, and it was lovely sitting outside for breakfast and watching birds on the telegraph wires, it was a great base to view all the museums in Iron Bridge, it was peaceful and quiet, also a romantic way to get away from the everyday drudges of a hectic life.
It was back to basics and keeping things simple we loved. Our greeting was warm and we appreciated the rock cakes.
Lovely surroundings and freedom to come and go we felt the pressure lift from day one. we would love to return sometime.”
