The discerning visitor to Shrewsbury would do well to consider a stay at this fabulous, Grade II listed townhouse in the heart of the medieval town of Shrewsbury.
Oak beamed throughout and packed with character, the 16th century townhouse provides luxurious accommodation for up to 6 people. Sumptuously furnished with care and attention, a real treat for all who stay here.
On the ground floor, a spacious hallway leads to a comfortable lounge complete with both a 3 and 2 seater sofa, and features an inglenook fireplace with gas fired stove. A flatscreen TV and DVD player are also provided. To one side, the open plan, raised dining area and kitchen are complete with everything you would need throughout your stay, including a dishwasher, oven, washing machine and microwave. There’s even cutlery supplied for young children. Just one of many thoughtful touches throughout the house.
The first floor consists of both a twin bedroom and double bedroom with ensuite. Fine furnishings, including linen by The White Company and the Feather and Black bedsteads provide a touch of opulence in addition to the finest in comfort. There is plenty of storage space with wardrobes to the twin room and double room containing a walk in wardrobe. The ensuite to the double is complete with sink, basin and shower.
A spare room provides space for children to play away with a selection of boardgames and books. The room is also home to a travel cotbed, highchair and stairgate. An ironing board and iron are also provided.
The second floor belongs to the family bathroom which consists of an elegant freestanding roll-top bath with WC and sink basin, all with traditional brass fittings.
The third floor, or attic, boasts a high vaulted ceiling under which a Feather and Black king sized bed resides. The room has a dressing area with Chester drawers. A word of note, a horizontal 4ft oak beam needs to be ducked under to enter the room, but for us, this just adds to the charm of the building. Just watch your head !
